POSTPONED UNTIL AUTUMN 2021 DUE TO RAIN.
The talks are in German language.
The 42nd Hybrid Talks will be our first live audience event, which is also reflected in the title: Cohesion. While the term often refers to social unity, it also describes the binding of matter, for example molecules, or even of sentences. A variety of speakers from different disciplines will explore these and other aspects of the subject at the Hybrid Talks. Insights will be given into the structures of proteins and their interactions with cells. The spatial aspects of cohesion will be examined and how the use of digital technologies is radically changing the notion of space and orientation in the world. And not least importantly, the event itself will contribute to cohesion when we all come together for the first time in over a year.
The speakers are the following:
- "Cohesion as recognition of (spatial) difference"
Prof. Dr. Martina Löw
TU | Sociology of planning and architecture
- "What is Life?"
Prof. Dr. Juri Rappsilber
TU | Biotechnology, Bioanalytics
- "Digital sovereignty, the urban scale and participation"
Elizabeth Calderón Lüning
UdK | Weizenbaum-Institut
- "What we eat and with whom - social cohesion within the food system"
Prof. Dr. Dr. Martina Schäfer
TU | Center for Technology and Society
- "Narrating Space. Strategies of Design in Film and Architecture"
Dörte Meyer (artistic assistant) & Jeanne-Françoise Fischer (research assistant)
UdK | Department of Plastic and Spatial Representation | Department of Design and Urban Renewal
The Hybrid Talks aim at promoting mutual inspiration and invite networking. Representatives of different disciplines encounter each other and share their perspectives on the topic “Cohesion” through short 10 minutes presentations. After the talks we invite everybody for further exchange.
The Hybrid Talks are a conversation format initiated by the Hybrid Plattform, a project platform of the Berlin University of the Arts and the Technische Universität Berlin.
