Hybrid Talks 46 - Critical Social Practices

The political, environmental, and technological challenges society faces today seem only to highlight the need to look beyond the rigid top-down frameworks of conventional hierarchical organization.

Participatory actions, whether in art, design, or through citizen science allows people to share their concerns in the community. Through this co-working paradigm, individual and collective practices become less irrational, unsustainable, and unjust, and encourage social cohesion, broader communication, empowerment, and solidarity. Each of our invited guest each brings a unique creative perspective to the notion of a critical social practice, where we will explore the dynamics, practice architectures, local constraints, and arrangements of critical participatory actions.

The Hybrid Talks invite to mutual inspiration and networking. Representatives of different disciplines of the Campus Charlottenburg meet and illuminate the topic "Critical Social Practices" from their perspective in short presentations of 10 minutes each. Afterwards, they will discuss mutual insights, irritations and possible synergies. The exchange across the boundaries of individual disciplines will continue in a relaxed atmosphere afterwards.
