Venue: Berlin Science Week Campus, Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (Invalidenstraße 43, Berlin 10115). Free entry.
Panel Members: Moisés Horta Valenzuela (artist), Tom Burgert (TU Berlin), Dr. Frederico Visi (UdK Berlin), Dr. Claudia Schnugg (moderator)

In partnership with the HYBRID PLATTFORM, the SCIENCE GALLERY INITIATIVE at TU Berlin is excited to announce our upcoming deep dive into the role of AI techniques in the performance and production of electronic music.

In the last 10 years, the use of evolutionary models, generative neural networks and machine learning techniques have provided innovative automatizations of musical processes. What are the implications of these new techniques for the genre of electronic music, and where exactly do the lines between the disciplines of music and computer science intersect?

MACHINED MUSIC is a panel discussion and performance that will offer a deep-dive into these techniques by bringing together experts in both the artistic and scientific domains.

Join us at the Museum für Naturkunde as part of BERLIN SCIENCE WEEK. Our event includes a 45-minute podium discussion led by curator Dr. Claudia Schnugg with guests Tom Burgert (scientist at TU Berlin), Moisés Horta Valenzuela (electronic musician and sound artist) and Federico Visi (performer/researcher at UdK Berlin) as well as a 45-min performance and set by Horta Valenzuela utilizing some of the techniques discussed.
