Colors of Fall…

Back from the fall break, we start the new semester on the Campus Charlottenburg. Any news from the campus? Certainly! Last week, UdK Berlin launched its new website. We congratulate our colleagues on the new design and the great functions the website now offers.

Especially since we remember how exciting, but also exhausting, a re-launch process is in which you think about your digital presentation, archive, and network in a new way. Two years ago, Hybrid Plattform went online with its new website with a particular focus on a revision of our Hybrid Community. Since then, we regularly welcome new members to our online community that continues to grow, creating an interesting network of diverse people and lateral thinkers.

We also welcome new staff, the most internationally-known amongst them is the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei as Einstein Professor. Shortly after his detention in April 2011, he was offered a visiting professorship via the Einstein Foundation Berlin at UdK Berlin. After regaining his passport this summer, Ai Weiwei came to Berlin and will now start teaching UdK students in a broad range of artistic disciplines. This Sunday, November 1, via live video stream, you can watch and listen to Ai Weiwei in conversation with UdK Berlin faculty members on the art of teaching art. We are very curious and excited about Ai Weiwei's future activities on the campus.

Apropos Campus Charlottenburg: We also would like to draw your attention to the annual reception of the Campus Charlottenburg. In the spirit of this year's motto “Charlottenburg goes CHIC”, we will get an insight into the newly opened CHIC Charlottenburg Innovation Center where creative alumni and engineers from both TU Berlin and UdK Berlin create entrepreneurial ideas and found start-ups. Registration by today, October 30 by email: info(at)campus-charlottenburg.org.

Hopefully we will see you on these occasions and at further events!
