Hybrid Talks XXXVII - Dynamics

[Translate to Englisch:]

On Thursday evening, the 14th of November, the Hybrid Plattform hosted the 37th installment of the Hybrid Talk series. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Christoph Gengnagel, the subject of the presentations circulated around the theme "Dynamics".

Prof. Daniel Ott was the first one to step on stage and therefore responsible for channeling the dynamic attention spans of the audience on todays topic - and he brought music to do so. By showing us examples of Schubert and Feldmann he explained how dynamics interpreted as volume changes are understood as the fourth element (besides tone, pitch and time) of music.
Following this talk, artist and actitivist Prof. Mathilde ter Heijne introduced us to her political research named "BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS" by telling us about the International Congress of Women conference held at The Hague, Netherlands in 1915.
The focus of the audience was already as sharp as a laser but to top it off Prof. Dr. Kathy Lüdge explained how laser beams physically work and how they can create dynamics and chaos.
Even though Prof. Dr. Axel Werwatz named his talk "In the long run we're all dead" we were not afflicted but rather curious after getting a 10-minute-tease about economical dynamics shown by boom and recession resulting of various complex reasons. Closing the set of our five guests Esra Rotthoff focussed on revealing the dynamics of the audience by taking exciting pictures of them jumping up and down and making dynamic moves.

To reward each and everyone who participated this evening we gave out drinks and snacks and were part of interesting conversations quickly expanding todays topic.
