Our partner Science Gallery at TU Berlin is inviting you for a podium discussion on the
Art-Science Collaboration “EARTH - PULLING BLOOD FROM A STONE”
Niamh Schmidtke, artist in residence at TU Berlin’s Mineral Collections, will be in conversation with their collaborator, Dr. Johannes Giebel, the custodian of the collections, facilitated by the residency program’s curator, Ariane Koek. We invite you to see and hear about their artistic research process engaging with science, which as well as thinking, involves making with different materials - like painting with pigments from minerals and making audio and visual pieces.
WHEN: Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 5:30 pm.
WHERE: UNI_VERSUM at TU Berlin (in the foyer of the main building), Straße des 17. Juni 135, 10623 Berlin.
The talk will be in English last 60-90 minutes with the opportunity to ask questions and talk to everyone afterwards. It marks the end of the two-months research phase as part of the EARTH WATER SKY residency program hosted by Science Gallery at TU Berlin and funded by the Fondation Didier and Martine Primat. In Autumn this year, there will be a special exhibition and event showing work-in-progress. In early summer 2024 you will be able to see the results of their art-science collaboration and research with a final art piece.
