Rhythms influence our lives in many and diverse ways. Through the heartbeat or breathing, in music and dance, poetry and architecture, the lifecycle and the seasons – rhythm is ubiquitous.
The topic of “rhythm” plays a key role in both the arts and in the science. It represents a design principle in visual arts and it is part of literature and linguistic sciences, of biology and medicine, of history and cultural studies and, as periodicity, of mathematics and physics. At the beginning of the 20th century, “rhythm” developed into an interdisciplinary research subject, one that we will survey across the disciplines in our 26th Hybrid Talks.

Following speakers will address the topic (lectures in German language):

The Hybrid Talks aim at promoting mutual inspiration and invite networking. Representatives of different disciplines encounter each other and share their perspectives on the topic "Rhythm" through short ten minute presentations. After the presentations we will continue our exchange across individual disciplines in a relaxed atmosphere.
